Citations & Appendix

Every fact Surfboard surfaces is traceable to its source.

Every fact Surfboard surfaces is traceable to its source.

Citations are inline pills - small colored marks that appear within responses and documents, showing which source each fact came from. Hover over a citation to preview the source, or click to open it. A citation might show #eng-standup for a fact pulled from Slack, or Q3 Budget.xlsx for a number from Drive.

Appendix - every document has an appendix that stores the evidence behind its content: source quotes, timestamps, and links. Open it from the document's three-dot menu (⋯) → Appendix. Remove an individual item by hovering over it and clicking the × icon. When you manually edit a document, Surfboard updates the appendix in the background to keep the evidence in sync.

The appendix is your audit trail. If a board ever looks wrong, open the appendix to see the exact source content Surfboard used.
