Auto-Mode
Automatically approve safe, repeatable actions so you stay in flow.
Auto-Mode lets Surfboard automatically approve safe, repeatable tool calls - searches, reads, and lookups - so you don't need to confirm every step of a long task. Surfboard evaluates each action and auto-approves when it's confident the action matches your intent. A brief receipt appears in the conversation for each auto-approved step.
What gets auto-approved:
- Passive actions: searching, reading, and looking up data across your connected sources
- Short-lived lookups with no side effects
What always requires your approval:
- Write actions: sending emails, posting messages, creating or modifying files
- Anything Surfboard isn't confident aligns with your intent
How to use:
- Open any conversation
- Look for the Auto-mode toggle in the conversation header
- Turn it on - Surfboard evaluates each action and auto-approves when appropriate
To turn off, toggle Auto-mode off in the conversation header at any time.
